Pleasant Valley, NY. A collection of Auction related memorabilia, ephemera dating from the early 1800’s to the early part of the 20th Century will be sold online at AARauctions.com with bidding ending on July 26 at 7:30PM on AARbids.com.

According to the collector and auctioneer, Robert Doyle, CAI, “The collection has been assembled over many years at the Absolute Auction Center at 45 South Ave. Pleasant Valley, NY since 1946. This offering, one of many, primarily consists of original and historically significant framed broadsides, newspaper clippings, magazine covers, many pertaining to livestock, estate, business liquidations, and real estate auctions.”

Doyle is the historian for the New York State Auctioneers Association and has served as the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Museum Committee Chairperson. He was the 50th President of the NAA and is currently the President-Elect of the NAA Foundation. He has written monthly columns for national Auction publications on the history of Auction for the last seven years. He and his wife Susan have collected Auction related historical material for many years.

The National Auctioneers Association Foundation is developing a “Virtual Museum” that would feature images and descriptions of thousands of auction related artifacts in a searchable database. According to Doyle, “We are retaining the rights to use the images and descriptions of the items being sold to be added to the database of the Virtual Museum. The good news is that we will also have the records of who purchased the items so that credit can be given to the new owner for any items added to the Virtual Museum.”

A gold imprinted label will accompany every item sold that will add to the provenance of the collectible. All items are guaranteed to be original unless described to the contrary. The collection covers all categories of the Auction method of marketing from automobiles and books to slaves and tobacco. The items will be offered without reserve. All items will start at one dollar and will sell to the highest bidders regardless of price.
